Implementing a Lecuture Video Browser for Improving the Speech of Lecture Videos

(in English) Since flipped classrooms and online lecture services are increasing in many educational institutions, demands for lecture videos are increasing. Commentary speech in a lecture video is important for students to understand its contents. A wide variety of students have different preferences on listenability for lecture videos. It is hard for teachers to create universally acceptable lecture videos for every student. In this research, we developed a lecture video browser that can modify lecture videos in order to improve its listenability for students. Moreover, the system gives some feedback to teachers to improve lecture videos by the editing history log and the viewing history log. We show how the system can be effectively used for improving the teacher’s commentary speech, and giving feedback to teachers. We propose a new mechanism for improving the commentary speech. The mechanism is used for modifying the voice of the speech at a comfortable volume and making listening a lecture easier.
