(in English) Recently energy harvesting technology has attracted a lot of attention as a means to realize a wireless sensor system with no battery. In RF energy harvesting system, which utilize far field radio wave as an energy source, it is essential to boost the weak AC voltage from an antenna sufficiently, and input it to a rectifier circuit. In a conventional research, voltage boost is achieved using internal inductance of antenna and variable capacitor. However, since control circuit is not integrated in the chip and is driven by another power supply, it is unsuitable for wireless sensor system application. In this research, we newly designed and evaluated an RF energy harvesting circuit in 0.18 µm CMOS process that includes an on-chip digital controller for automatic LC-resonance-tuning.
