An efficient sensor data collection method using CNN

(in English) With the construction of large-scale IoT environments, the traffic volume will explosively increase for collecting sensor data to the Cloud. In this paper, we propose an efficient sensor data collection method for the Fog node utilizing machine learning. The Fog nodes introduce classifiers for estimating an abnormal state (e.g., extremely high sensor temperature data by comparing to the neighboring sensor data). Only when an abnormal state is detected by classifiers, Fog nodes will send the related data to the Cloud. As a result, the traffic volume to the Cloud can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, we verify the effectiveness of our proposed method by using real sensor data collected from a commercial facility.
