Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Contention Resolution Diversity Slotted ALOHA (CRDSA) protocol is a one of Media Access Control (MAC) protocol of random access scheme. In CRDSA, a terminal transmits replica packets in a frame, a receiver resolves collision by applying Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC). Then, it can achieve higher throughput. However, the throughput in CRDSA considerably degrades because SIC does not work well when the network is under DoS attack. In a method which we previously proposed, the number of replica is controlled after estimating attacker traffic. this conventional estimation method is Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) which utilizes idle slots in a frame before applying SIC. However, the estimation error is bigger when the traffic of legal terminals is higher or the attacker traffic is lower. In this report, the estimation method which utilizes the number of reception fail users after applying SIC is proposed. The proposed method is MLE based on reception fail users and the probability that all of replicas from a terminal are not received. Simulation results show that proposed method achieves about half estimation error than one of conventional method in higher legal traffic region.
