Study on the feed line of coplanar line end slot feed 4-element linear array antenna No.2

(in English) We have developed a liquid crystal loaded phase shifter using dielectric birefringence, and study applications of the phase shifter to adaptive array antenna. In order to achieve low loss, we study to integrate the antenna element and the phase shifter, and designed a microstrip patch antenna that feeds directly from the coplanar line used in the liquid crystal loading phase shifter whose gain is 7.56 dBi. Using this patch antenna as a basic element, a four elements linear array antenna was designed, but due to the electromagnetic coupling between the patches, unnecessary resonance occurred. To suppress this unnecessary resonance, loading SIR structures on the feed line resulted in suppression of unnecessary resonance points without degradation of radiation characteristics.
