We developed a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) compact 8-pole tri-band bandpass filter (TBPF) using a new feeding structure. It combines a dual-band bandpass filter that uses stub-loaded meander line open-loop resonators and single-band bandpass filter which uses meander line open-loop resonators. The proposed feedline structure enables the external quality factor of each passbands to be adjusted by changing four physical parameters, namely widths and lengths of the feedline. In addition, we designed the coupling coefficients of the three passbands using four types of waveguides. The center frequencies of the three passbands were 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 GHz, respectively, with fractional bandwidths of 2.0%. The TBPF was fabricated using double-sided YBa2Cu3O7 thin film on a 34.0 × 33.0 × 0.5 mm Al2O3 substrate. The measured frequency responses of the filter match the simulated ones well. |
