Consideration of Multi-Pole for Electromagnetically-Coupled Half-Wavelength Resonator Filters

(in English) In recent years, further miniaturization and high performance of a filter for small base station are required. By forming the attenuation pole near the passband of the filter, attenuation outside the pass-band becomes steep, and high selectivity can be obtained. As a result, the necessary attenuation can be obtained with a smaller number of stages, and the filter can be downsized. In this report, the authors investigate the characteristics of two-stage and three-stage filters with half-wavelength resonators that generates attenuation poles using electromagnetic coupling. We also study the spurious characteristics of the filter. Usually, in the half-wavelength resonator filter, the closest harmonic spurious is formed at a frequency twice the center frequency, but by loading capacitance at both ends of the coupled line and shortening the line length, the spurious can be suppressed and downsized. In this research, we investigate the characteristics of a half-wavelength resonator multistage filter using a parallel coupled line and investigate how the attenuation pole frequency varies depending on the capacitance connected between the terminals of the coupled resonator. It was confirmed by circuit simulation.
