The reflection characteristics of the electromagnetic wave absorbing wall are the most important parameters in designing the anechoic chamber. Waveguides propagating radio waves in TEM mode, such as coaxial waveguides, are usually used for measurement of wave absorbers in the VHF band whose wavelength is several meters. However, this method is limited to vertical incidence, and because of the evaluation with the radio wave absorber alone, it is not possible to directly grasp the characteristics of the wall surface on which the absorber is arranged. On the other hand, since the space standing wave method directly measures the distribution of standing waves generated by incident waves and reflected waves, it is possible to measure the wall reflection in the state close to the anechoic chamber. In this report, we attempted the measurement by the same method at open area test site which is not affected by reflected waves from other than the wall to be measured |
