Improvement of Weight Reduction and Transmission Efficiency of Wireless Power Transfer Using Magnetocoated Aluminum Plate Coil

(in English) In order to improve the fuel economy and the running performance of the electric vehicle, it is desired to reduce the weight of the vehicle side wireless power transmission coil, and a coil which is inexpensive and easy to manufacture is required. Also, in wireless power transmission, reduction of AC resistance is also required to improve transmission efficiency. Manufacture is easy, and aimed the weight of the wireless power transmission coil with the aluminum plate is inexpensive. The weight was reduced by 1/7 from 1.9 kg to 0.29 kg compared with the copper litz wire. AC resistance was reduced by applying magnetic coating to the coil. Transmission efficiency increased from 83.1% to 85.9%, 2.8% improvement.
