Examination of the Prediction Equation and Urban Models for the Propagation Contest

(in English) We participated in the propagation prediction contest, created the prediction equation of the propagation loss, and evaluated prediction accuracy. The prediction equation was created by carrying out multiple regression analysis of propagation loss data that the base station antenna height is 40m and 60m. The propagation loss data were divided into three areas; LOS road, the road which intersects LOS road and NON-LOS road. The effective parameters for LOS road data were the distance between transmission and reception, base station height and road width. The prediction error of the prediction equation was 5.87 dB in standard deviation. The prediction method based on the measured value of a scale model was also examined. The scale model of 1/250 was produced from the building database. The prediction error of this method was 6.1 dB in standard deviation. Furthermore, a urban structure was examined based on the propagation loss of an actual urban area.
