A Calibration Method for Crowdsensing Based Radio Environment Database

(in English) In spectrum sharing with cognitive radio, radio environment estimation is essential to secure quality of unlicensed users' communication with interference power constraint. For radio environment estimation, a radio environment database has been used. In order to construct this database, a sensing scheme using smartphones has been proposed. However, this scheme is difficult to achieve high precision radio environment measurement because the sensing information from smartphones include offset components which are different in each smartphone. In this paper, we propose a calibration method correcting offset components in the observed value to obtain actual received signal strength indication by subtracting propagation loss, fading loss, and transmit power from the observed value. Our calibration method shows that the offset error correction leads to constructing a precise radio environment database.
