A Nuclear Missiles Nullification System based on Space Technologies -- For elimination of the threat of nuclear war --
Osamu Ichiyoshi (HNB21C) SANE2017-105
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Nuclear weapons become useless if their transportation means are nullified. Here is proposed a system that can immediately detect, track, capture and return the missiles to their launchers. A launch of the missiles is promptly discovered by at least two satellites in reconnaissance over the target region. The location of the satellite is determined as the intersection of two straight lines. As the missiles get sufficiently high, they can be monitored from afar by long distance RADAR systems. The required very high receiver sensitivity is achieved by in-phase combination of a number of receiver systems, that can maintain wide solid angles of the receive antennae. Once the offence missile is recognized, the missile defense system will launch a defense missile. Unlike the existing systems, the defense missile does not hit but capture the offense missile and carry it to the site of its launcher.
