Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this work, we propose a method of digital watermarking that constructs the stego signal with only embedded information data. The proposed method employs the mapping function that is used in digital modeling for distortion circuit. The Distortion circuit is used in guitar instruments. In the proposed method, secret information is embedded by using two different mapping functions. And, secret information is extracted from the average amplitude value of music signal. It is supposed that these methods are employed at the stage of recording musical pieces or composing digital music. Therefore, it is not necessary to consider deterioration from the cover signal. In addition, a blind extraction is possible. In this paper, we describe the embedding and extraction methods of the proposed method. We perform the subjective evaluation to confirm if this process causes annoying artifacts in perception, and evaluated the robustness against some attacks such as mixing, MP3 coding, tempo alteration, pitch alteration, HPF attacks on the stego music signals. In this result, the proposed method proved not to causes annoying artifacts in perception, and to be resistant to basic attacks except for HPF attack. Also, we found that we could give the proposed method the resistance to HPF attack by using envelope detection.
