Performance evaluation of Windowed-DFTs-OFDM using overlap FFT filter bank

(in English) IoT(Internet of Things) to connect various "things" to the Internet is one of the most important applications in 5G mobile systems. In order to realize the IoT system, 5G system is required to connect a huge number of terminals and to support various transmission speeds for various types of IoT terminals in asynchronous manner. Thus, a new waveform such as FBMC(Filter Bank Multi Carrier) and UFMC(Universal Filtered Multi Carrier) are proposed to reduce adjacent channel leakage power. This report proposes a novel Windowed-DFTs-OFDM based on DFTs-OFDM(Discrete Fourier Transform spreading-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) with low PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) to achieve small adjacent channel leakage power and small transmission performance degradation in asynchronous transmission and reception. For this purpose, the proposed scheme employs windowing and overlap addition at the transmitter side and the overlap FFT filter-bank on the receiver. It also describes transmission performance of the proposed scheme evaluated by computer simulation.
