Spatial Correlation-based Antenna Selection for Adaptive Array Antenna

(in English) Suppressing interference using an adaptive array antenna, the number of antenna elements determines the number of interference waves. However, the wireless communication system using an array antenna has higher cost than using a single antenna because in principle one radio frequency (RF) circuit per antenna is required. Antenna selection can reduce the cost maintaining the performance. We focus on an antenna selection using the spatial correlation between desired and interference wave. A Correlation Measurement (CM) method is proposed. But, CM method has high computational cost because this method has the iteration process. In this paper, we
propose a method to select the optimum combination of antenna from a table of all combination based on the spatial correlation between desired and interference wave. In addition, we show that the computational cost when using proposed method is lower than the cost when using CM method.
