Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Discovering a similar substring from multiple strings is called motif extraction. It is used in various fields including DNA analysis. In this paper, we propose a motif extraction method using Monte-Carlo tree search. Although Monte-Carlo tree search is a search method that has attracted much attention in games including Go, its effectiveness has been also known well in optimization problems. We evaluate the proposed method from the view point of accuracy of solutions by comparing with the existing Gibbs sampling method.
