[Invited Talk] 42 GHz-band Wireless Link Technologies for Television Program Contribution

(in English) The 4K and 8K UHDTV (ultra high definition television) regular broadcasting will start on December 1st, 2018. Portable wireless links for live remote broadcast are needed to contribute UHDTV program. We have researched and developed 42 GHz-band millimeterwave portable wireless links for HDTV (high definition television: 2K), and we are also researching and developing UHDTV portable wireless links using 42 GHz-band. This paper describes 42 GHz-band wireless link technologies that have been researched and developed in NHK to utilize such as for UHDTV wireless link and wireless camera system.
