Although users can usually receive various application services through the Internet, some specific services, such as transportation information and advertisements like limited-time sale, are strongly dependent on geographical location and time (and so this information is referred to as spatio-temporal data (STD) in this paper), which is not readily available via the Internet. Since the “locally produced and consumed” paradigm of spatio-temporal data use is effective for location-dependent applications, we proposed the spatio-temporal data retention system using vehicles as InfoHubs. In this system, the node adjusted the data transmission probability
based on the number of neighboring nodes in order to alleviate channel interference and achieve a high coverage rate. However, if heterogeneous STDs exist in the same space, it is difficult to achieve effective data retention by channel interference due to increased number of data transmissions. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a data transmission control method based on node density for heterogeneous STD retention. Considering, different requiremetnts of heterogeneous STD, the proposed method achieve high coverage rate and a low number of transmitting data for each data. Through simulations, we showed that our proposed method is effective for retaining heterogeneous STD. |
