Filter Design and Performance Evaluation of Repeat-Accumulate Signal Codes based on Density Evolution
Manato Takai, Koji Ishibashi (UEC) RCS2017-400
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose repeat-accumulate signal codes (RASC) as a simplest one of signal codes. Although the filter coefficients of the encoder determine whole of its performances since signal codes can directly encode a modulated signal, optimum filters were found by brute-force search in terms of symbol error rate (SER) in previous papers because the asymptotic behavior with different filters has not been investigated. Therefore, we introduce Monte-Carlo density evolution (MC-DE) to analyze the asymptotic behavior of RASC so as to find the optimum filter. Simulation results show SER of RASC with optimum filter can come close to the conventional turbo signal codes while computational complexity is reduced.
