The number of wireless LAN Access Points (APs) and devices has been drastically increasing in recent years, due to its simplicity of installation and low deployment cost.
In addition, since the amount of traffic also has been increasing due to the wide spread of realtime video services, IEEE~802.11ac employs a function of channel bonding technique, which uses multiple and continuous channels, to increase transmission rate.
However, heterogeneous communications with different width of channel bonding and size of A-MPDU frame inevitably coexist.
In this case, the gap of parameter settings in terms of not only A-MPDU frame size but also channel bonding width affects the communication performance.
In this paper, we first investigate the effects of the degradation of communication performance through simulation experiment, and then proposed a new method to determine an appropriate A-MPDU size, while limiting the degradation of the communication performance as much as possible.
Simulation results showed that the proposed scheme can improve the throughput performance by 52%. |
