(in English) It is useful to apply a network switch, which is called a white list switch or WLS, with monitoring and/or filtering function of packets based on a white list to closed network in such as a factory. This paper evaluates availability of WLS in a network system in a hospital, especially, a nurse call system, by two approaches: (i) a trial of a WLS in a real network system of a university hospital, and (ii) an experiment in an environment that is designed for the evaluation. Moreover, based on the two approaches above, several points to make effective use of a WLS in a hospital network system are advised.
