Recently, with the demand for high-speed network, optical regenerator is an essential function for supporting high-speed data transmission. We propose an optical regenerator using frequency chirp in a quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier. To evaluate the signal regeneration effect, we experimentally demonstrate the signal regeneration using a 10-Gbit/s data signal at a wavelength of 1.55 $¥mu$m. As a result, we successfully achieve high regeneration performance. |
