IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) filter design methods using PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) have been reported. Although PSO can enumerate local minima rapidly, PSO exhibits a premature convergence due to a strong directivity. As one of the stagnation avoidance methods, PSS (Problem Space Stretch) -PSO has been developed. However, it is unknown how well it works to find good solutions. In this paper, an algorithm behavior is investigated through a viewpoint of IIR filter parameters. |
