Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Low-PAPR SOCC-OFDM Communications Systems

(in English) One of the major drawbacks of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is its signal with high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which makes their linear power ampli fication difficult without severe nonlinear distortion. The authors have proposed a new OFDM-based system that combines super-orthogonal convolutional code (SOCC) and Golay sequence, targeting low PAPR, high error correction capability, and
low decoding latency. In this report, we describe our real-time implementation of the proposed transmitter with subcarrier hopping as well as its receiver using two software de ned radio devices. We also examine the robustness of the proposed frame synchronization against nonlinear power amplifi cation as well as signal attenuation.
