A low complexity blind SLM scheme for PAPR reduction in LDPC coded OFDM system

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Selected mapping (SLM) is one of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction schemes for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals. Because an SLM probabilistically reduces PAPR with signal scrambling, it is required to send side information on the selected scrambling code, which degrades the transmission efficiency. Blind SLMs estimating the selected scrambling code are therefore investigated. For low-density parity-check (LDPC) coded OFDM signals, a blind SLM using log likelihood ratios calculated in the sum-product algorithm was proposed. This conventional scheme needs a long processing time when sequential signal processing is introduced. In order to shorten processing time by reducing computational complexity, we propose a blind SLM with a code estimation scheme employing the forced convergence decoding. Results of computer simulation show that the proposed SLM reduces the complexity.
