Demodulation method of chaotic vortex detection signal of vortex flow meter -- Synchronize chaotic application in coupled van der Pol equation --
Masataka Iwai NLP2017-107
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In a vortex flowmeter which widely used in industrial plants, nonlinear phenomena such as frequency entrainments, jump phenomena and chaos may occur due to fluid pulsation by a rotating machine such as a pump,
and may cause an unexpected damage. In this report, we show that a coupled van der Pol equation system can be used as a filter for the chaos generated by the vortex detection signal of the vortex flowmeter and can be demodulated to the correct frequency by frequency entrainments. For the vortex detection signal of the vortex flowmeter model represented by the van der Pol equation, we show that the correct frequency of the vortex detection signal can be demodulated by obtaining the adjustment parameter condition of the coupled van der Pol equation using the describing functions. We simulate the proposed method of the model and apply this method for the vortex detection signal data of the actual vortex flowmeter. We show that the chaotic vortex detection signal can be demodulated to the correct frequency.
