Several compression schemes of channel state information (CSI) for the downlink multi-user MIMO are proposed, in which at the receive side, the CSI’s in the frequency domain are converted to delay profiles in the time domain and time components with high power in the delay profiles are selected and only these components are fed back to the transmit side . In these schemes, buffer bands in the frequency domain are prepared to combine multiple CSI’s and the interpolation method using iterative processing based on the convex projection is adopted to produce the delay profiles expressing propagation paths precisely. A linear interpolation method and a CSI copy method are proposed as the shape of the buffer bands in the frequency domain, and it is reported that the suitable length of the buffer bands depend on fading conditions. Considering that the shape of the buffer bands is one of key points to realize an accurate compression of CSI’s, the paper proposes the interpolation method utilizing guard bands with frequency response extrapolated by adaptive filter as the buffer bands independent on fading conditions, and shows as the results of the computer simulation that the transmission characteristics of the proposed scheme outperform the characteristics of the conventional methods. |
