Development of Peer-to-Peer Method Server Management System in Virtual Server System

(in English) The server management system incorporating the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) method has features that the number of target servers for management is not depended on and servers are monitored mutually. An issue of the P2P method is that the startup time of the backup server affects the recovery time when recovering the failed server function. In this paper, we examine a virtual server system as the target system and propose a server function recovery method to address the issue. In the virtual server system, each virtual server is redundantly constructed generally. In the proposed method that incorporate the P2P features, when the target server fails, the access from clients can be accepted by temporarily setting the virtual IP address of the failed server to the redundant server. We develop a dynamic management extension method which deals with the simultaneous failure of multiple virtual servers. The proposed method is evaluated through an experimental system in order to examine the functionalities and performances.
