Recently, there has been rapid development of wireless devices using intermediate frequency (IF; 300 Hz – 10 MHz) band. In particular, the development and commercialization of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems using IF band for electric vehicles and home appliance are in progress. However, there is no available assessment method of contact current for protecting EM hazards from these devices. In this paper, we apply our previously proposed numerical method to an analysis of contact current from the metal plate placed in the vicinity of a monopole antenna and verify the validity of the method. Then, we measure the contact current from a vehicle for electromagnetic field measurement close to a medium frequency (MF) broadcasting antenna and compare the results with those obtained by our proposed method. It was found that the difference between the contact current obtained by the proposed method and the measurement is less than 25%, proving the availability of the proposed method. |
