We consider the classification problem for high dimensional data. Using prior knowledge on the labels of partial samples, we formulate an eigenvalue problem of a linear matrix pencil whose eigenvector has factors (scaling factors) for aggressively modifying the scales of the features. We propose a spectral classification method that realizes high classification accuracy by applying the scaling factors obtained by solving this eigenvalue problem to the whole data. We give numerical experiments for gene expression data. |
