High-accuracy measurement of acoustic properties of microstructures using ultra-high frequency ultrasound (< 100 MHz) is required to understanding of the relationship between pathological features and acoustic structures. In the analysis of speed of sound by ultra-high frequency ultrasound, the spacial resolution will be improved. However, it may increase the influence by surface shape of biological tissue at speed of sound (SoS) analysis. This study aims to understand the relationship between the shape of tissue and the accuracy of SoS analysis through the wave propagation simulations using Finite-difference time-domain method (FDTF) method. From the results of examination imitating the real surface shape of tissue samples, it confirmed that SoS analysis is difficult if the sample thickness around focus is insufficient. |
