Image Coding based on Completion using Generative Adversarial Networks

(in English) In this paper, we propose an image coding method applying image completion using the framework of generative adversarial networks. Our method applies image completion for the areas where are difficult to encode efficiently by conventional normative codecs like HEVC which mainly focus on faithful reproduction. The method is realized by pre-processing and post-processing of HEVC: pre-processing is extraction of feature information referring to the original picture of the target blocks, and post-processing is reconstruction based on image completion referring reference blocks and feature information.
