| (in English) | In H.265/HEVC standard, HM which is the reference software uses RD optimization processing to determine the intra prediction mode, but the computational complexity is high. In this research, instead of RD optimization of HM, Deep-learning-based intra mode decision is proposed. The computational complexity of the neural network is also high in general. Therefore, we focused on the number of edges of the neural network and investigated the relationship between network architecture and computation time for prediction mode decision. In CNN, we also investigated the suitability of the prediction mode decision method for each parameter of neural network and prediction unit size. Based on these observation, a neural network model for prediction mode decision considering the balance between complexity and coding performance is proposed. | |
