The Proposal of the Algorithm for Positioning the Ball in Tennis Match Using UWB Radar and LIDAR

(in English) Recently, in the sports of ball games, systems that support judgement of referees by radar and camera have been developed because it is difficult to make accurate judgment by increasing the performance of the equipment used and the skill of the players. Tennis has a condition that the line judge error of whether the ball is inside or outside the line is within 5 mm, so a highly accurate line judge system is required. In this paper, UWB radar uses broadband pulses, the distance resolution becomes about cm. The distance resolution of LIDAR becomes within about mm by using light pulses of visible light or infrared light. By combining this UWB radar and LIDAR, in tennis match, we propose a highly accurate positioning system and show the positioning.
