The authors have determined the transmit antenna factor of a reference dipole antenna as a function of the distance by the two-antenna method, using the power transmission formula as the principle of calibration of the electric field probe for measuring the specific absorption rate in the MHz band. The authors propose to estimate the distance property of the average electric field intensity produced by the reference dipole antenna in the liquid. In order to keep the accuracy required for evaluating the conversion factor of the SAR probe, we modify our formulation. Using the method of moments, we determine the desirable length of the reference dipole antenna that enables probe calibration in a container installed in a laboratory. Calculated and estimated transmit antenna factor have a good agreement with each other so that we can confirm the validity of our probe calibration system in the MHz band. In addition, an example of estimating the conversion factor of an SAR probe is presented. |
