Thin films of diamond nanoparticles (DNP) were prepared by electrophoretic deposition. It was possible to deposit very thin films with thickness in nanometer range by using dilute dispersion of DNP and by controlling the deposition condition. By depositing the DNP on an aluminum electrode, electron injection from the electrode to an organic layer was significantly improved. DNP layers were also deposited by adsorption on substrate surfaces modified with self-assembled monolayers having functional units. These adsorbed layers of DNP were found to function as electron injection layers. |
