(in English) The popularization of the on-demand music streaming service and smart speakers causes the diversification of audio playback. For casual music listeners, who listen to music using portable devices such as smartphones, it is important not to shorten the battery life in music appreciation. To achieve power saving audio playback, the authors have proposed a subband power compensation algorithm based on the global frequency characteristics of our auditory systems. In this paper, the further efficient algorithm for power saving audio playback is proposed relying on the auditory masking effect given by the psycho-acoustics model. The proposed method achieves the reduction of power consumption up to 20 % with less perceptual distortion compared to the original music source.
