Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We propose a method to calculate the spectral envelope of voiced sounds for VOCODER applications. In our previous technical report, we proposed two algorithms to calculate interference-free power spectra of periodic signals. This set of algorithms is our fourth reinvention of interference-free power spectral representations for legacy-STRAIGHT, TANDEM-STRAIGHT, and CheapTrick, 20, 10, and three years ago, respectively. The first method directly calculates the interference-free spectrogram using the one-stage procedure. The next method calculates an interference-free power spectrum in the time domain in the first stage. In the next stage, a fo adaptive procedure using moving averaging in the frequency domain removes the interference in the frequency domain. These two methods are using sinc function and smoothed rectangular function for representing spectral envelope and are not consistent with the transfer function of the vocal tract. We introduce a pre-processing and post-processing pipeline based on the autoregressive spectral model to alleviate this inconsistency.
