| (in English) | Intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI) is a threat to destroy integrated circuits (ICs) or elements by using high-power electromagnetic waves which far exceeds the immunity of electronic devices and to reduce the availability of devices. In contrast, in this paper, we investigate the threat of IEMI for devices with weakened immunity due to intentional circuit modification. Specifically, we mount a hardware Trojan on the communication channel which connected to the target devices, and weaken immunity to the electromagnetic waves of a specific frequency. Then, we show that it is possible to generate a voltage fluctuation representing arbitrary data and let the IC process the data by applying the disturbance electromagnetic waves of the specific frequency which were amplitude-modulated. In addition, we explore detection methods such attacks. | |
