In ionic conductor, ions are trapped in energy potentials without an electric field. However, with electric field, electric current is generated by flow of the ions which is called ``mobile ion’’.
In our study, ultrafast ion-manipulations within a picosecond without electron excitations via terahertz electric fields was successfully attained. For a tangible evidence, we captured movement of ions as macroscopic currents measured by an amperemeter. From the simulation, it was clarified that ions traveled some 10 nanometers and stayed the destination in our study. |
