The social media facilitates the communication among people, and promotes several group activities in the society. Today, the persons frequently send positive feedback (e.g., Like in Facebook) to their friends via social media. Such positive feedback should be an important factor to promote the group activity. In a social network, the feedback is caused from a cycle of the communication chain among people. Hence, we must model the communication chain to clarify the effect of the positive feedback on the group activity promotion. However, it is difficult to describe the communication chain with simple deterministic rules because of the complexity of its behavior. A stochastic model (e.g., random walk) is popular to describe the complex phenomenon. The random walk can be a candidate model of the communication chain on a social network, but there is the problem for setting the transition probability of random walks to be able to exactly reproduce the behavior of the communication chain on an actual social network. In this paper, avoiding this problem with the random matrix theory, we analyze the positive feedback on social networks with the random walk model. As the results, we show the following properties that do not depend on the accuracy for setting the transition probability of random walks: (a) the scale-free property and the number of persons does not affect the strength of the social positive feedback, (b) the strength of the social positive feedback weakens with increasing the average number of friends and decreasing the variance of relationship strength between persons. |
