How people recognize Soft News? -- Focusing on commentators in news show --
Marina Kitagawa, Kazunori Inamasu (Kwansei Gakuin Univ.) HCS2018-39
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The purpose of this study is to clarify how people recognize the commentators who appear in soft news and whether their existences influence the impressions toward news programs.
First, I conducted on-line survey to consider how people recognize commentators. The results demonstrated that : 1) people considered experts to be authentic and reliable, 2) people considered non-experts to be ordinary and close, 3) people who have less political knowledge tend to be more favorable towards commentators in general regardless of their attributes.
Second, I conducted experimental survey to investigate the influence of commentators on the impression of news programs. However, the result implicated that commentators don’t involved in the impression toward news programs per se.
