The communication traffic is increasing exponentially and there are demands to increase the capacity of optical transmission systems. In order to increase the capacity of the optical transmission system while suppressing the cost per bit, it is desirable to apply high-baud-rate and high-order modulated signals. H high-baud-rate and high-order modulated signals are sensitive to signal quality degradation due to imperfections of transceiver devices. In this research, signal quality is improved by estimating and compensating for device imperfections and optical transmission of 600-Gbps/λ signals is demonstrated. |
