A Study on OTT and Access networks

(in English) According to Geoff Houston(2017), “The Internet is now composed of OTT and access networks” [1]. In this report we 1) analyzed the structure of the Internet in 2016 from public information, which 2) confirms Geoff Houston’s assertion. We named 3) this structure IMC: Intelligent Mesh Cloud & DTA: Dumb Tree Access and 4) discussed the possibility for the changes of this structure. In addition 5) through the surbey of Nanog Mailing list and so on, we marked down the definitions and the first apperances of industry jargon i.e. Tier1/2, Eyeball, etc.
