Theoretical Study on Circular Polarization Characteristics of Circular Patch Antenna with Four Parasitic Monopoles
Narihiro Nakamoto, Toru Fukasawa, Naofumi Yoneda (Mitsubishi Electric) AP2018-84
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A circular patch antenna with four parasitic monopole has been proposed as a broad beamwidth circular polarization antenna. In this paper, circular polarization characteristics of this antenna is formulated theoretically.
In the analysis presented here, electric currents induced on the parasitic monopoles are determined first, and then radiations from the magnetic current at the edge of the circular patch antenna and induced electric currents on the monopoles are calculated to show the radiation pattern and axial ratio. Calculation results are also presented to show the circular polarization characteristics of this antenna.
