Ultra-wideband is becoming available in short range radar, and further higher resolution is expected by utilizing ultra-wideband. In this background, we propose a sparced frequency coherent combining method that achieves high target range estimation accuracy by coherently combining signals of multiple frequency bands separated from each other. The authors have proposed a multi-frequency step CPC(complementary phase code) method that can obtain high range resolution while maintaining the detection distance by narrowband reception. In this paper, we will show methods to coherently combine the signals of each band obtained by the multi-frequency step CPC method by dividing the ultra-wideband into a plurality of separated narrowband sub bands. In the proposal of the method, two combining methods are proposed in consideration of the frequency stability of the radar. The estimation accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated by CRLB and statistical evaluation is performed by computer simulation. Furthermore, a simulation is performed in which the carrier frequency error of the radar is changed, and we consider the effect of carrier frequency error on estimated distance accuracy by both methods. |
