Active Noise Control (ANC) systems using Filtered-x LMS Algorithm have malfunction caused by differences of characteristic between secondary paths and its models (modeling errors). We investigated changes of secondary paths characteristics of ANC systems for automobiles under various conditions. And we confirmed influence of the changes using computer simulation. As a result, it was revealed that temperature and number of persons do not give a serious influence, but opening windows or exchanging loudspeakers sometimes destabilize the adaptive filters. Re-identification of the secondary paths is needed to solve the problem. Therefore, we considered about the adaptive identification technique that could balance the adaptation speed with the identification accuracy under low S/N condition because users usually cannot identify the secondary paths characteristics under high S/N environment. And we confirmed that we can adjust both the adaptation speed and the identification accuracy more flexibly than LMS algorithm by use of an algorithm that is derived from approximation of Steepest Descent algorithm. |
