Optical fiber installed in optical telecommunication system vibrates depending on the surrounding environment, and vibration measurement result obtained by the installed optical fiber shows the surrounding environment. We investigate the feasibility of the distributed vibration sensing based on optical frequency domain reflectometry by measuring vibrations occurred at different positions of the optical fiber. Vibration-induced frequency modulation causes spurious vibration. By compensating the spurious vibration, the vibration measurement results agree to actual vibration states. |
