Evaluation of group index difference of high order modes in polarization maintaining - two modes fiber by wavelength scanning

(in English) In LP11 mode of perfect core fiber, four modes degenerate. It is solved in PM-TMF and separated into four modes. We propagated LP11 mode to PM-TMF and calculated wavelength dependence of the power of component with same electric field distribution and polarization as the mode incident at exit end. Group refractive index difference between electric field distributions and polarizations obtained from simulation results match with the index difference obtained from index of each modes. In case of PANDA TMF, group refractive index difference between polarization modes appears large. In case of elliptic core TMF, the index difference between electric field distributions in LP11 mode appears large. It is possible to generate only the interference of electric field distribution in LP11 mode by matching polarization direction in input direction to optical axis of PM-TMF.
