Data-Associated Channel Compensation and Carrier Phase Recovery Based on Large-System Limit for PDM System

(in English) In PDM systems, polarization demultiplexing and carrier phase recovery (CPR) are required for signal detection.

This paper proposes a polarization demultiplexing and CPR method based on large-system limit, which is often used for statistical signal detection in wireless communication.
%
Received symbols in a short time span experience similar states of the channel matrix and phase noise.
%
To compensates the received symbol at the instant of time $k$, the proposed method utilizes the states at the instant of time $k-w$ to $k-1$.
%
Next, the matched filter output is calculated by utilizing the estimated transmitted symbol at instant of time $k-w$ to $k-1$.
%
This matched filter output can be assumed as a multiplication of a normalized Gram matrix os the estimated transmit vector and the transmitted symbol at the instant of time $k$.
%
The Gram matrix asymptotically approaches a diagonal matrix when $w$ is large enough, thanks to large-system limit, then the transmitted symbol can be detected.
%
The proposed method can algebraically conduct polarization demultiplexing and CPR with low computational complexity.
%
As a side effect, this method does not include feedback loops.
